What not to Say in your Interview?

With more potential job prospects comes more competition, hard work and yes, your sheer luck. Getting a call for an interview does not call for a party; you still need to get that job. Watch out on what you say and how you say it as nothing goes uninterrupted. Some inappropriate comments you should avoid in an interview:

Interview Tips

•    “Sorry I am late”. If you are not on time for your job interview how can your employer trust you with your punctuality?

•    “How much this job pays”. Clearly all you are interested in is money, let the interviewer bring it up for you. It is a signal that you are being called for a second round of interview.

•    Enquiring about annual leaves. Your first impression on the employer even before you get hired is you are planning for leaves. You don’t want that.

•    “I will take this call”. A negative attribute, you don’t want your employer to think you prioritize other things over this job.

•    When asked “where do you see yourself in five years from now” never ever say “doing your job”. Confidence is good but over confidence may derail your chances with the interviewer. You should give a more responsible answer considering the experience and goals you would have achieved in these five years.

•    “I really need this job”. Don’t ever say this, it makes you sound desperate and needy.
